Exhibition Countdown Part 2

The first step in the exhibition was completed yesterday. I delivered a large framed print of Plitvice Waterfall to the Alfred East Gallery in Kettering as my entry for the Open Studios central exhibition. Everyone who’s taking part in Open Studios is entitled to show one piece in the central show, so it’s a chance for people to see, in one place, which artists they want to investigate further. Hopefully it’ll inspire a few to visit us on the 13th/14th.

The show’s on from 30th August to 4th October, so there’s plenty of time to go and take a look.

Other developments – I’ve selected the twelve prints that I’m going to show, and they’re all framed up (hurrah for Ikea!) and ready to go, once I’ve screwed on some mirror plates. I’ve also got a big stack of business cards to hand out to interested customers. Roll on September!

Exhibition Countdown Part 1

Less than a month to go till our Group Exhibition and there’s still much to do – I haven’t even decided exactly which photographs to show!

I’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of twenty, and a stack of 12″x8″ prints are winging their way here from Photobox for the final selection process. I don’t intend to show more than 10 or 12 of them, but might bring the others along for the print bin.

Other preparations will include a trip to Ikea to pick up some frames, and we’re still trying to figure out how to procure some display boards on which to hang them – otherwise we’ll have to lie our pictures on the floor!

That’s one to solve next week…
